Hel...looooo

MyKellann Maloney

we'e been practicing since her was just weeks old and this morning, after several tries and swinging pitches she did it. Helloooo and ended with a swift intake if air to ring out the quintessential baby's laugh. She was as proud of herself as we were.

Qynn's new days

MyKellann Maloney

...and so it begins. I think it's fair to say Qynn has the longest commute if any 6 month old - but she seems to be enjoying the extra time with mom & watching the world zip by on her way to Little Friends House.

Her first day was greeted by tons of smiles & I was greeted by a women who instinctively threw out her arms ready to take our Qynn. This left me momentarily utterly confused & in disbelief of my next move. Really? Just hand her to you? Right now? no.

But I did. And so she goes. She made herself at home on the mat & I quickly pulled out her favorite toys from home. We picked out her crib (by the corner wall diagonal from the window so she can have some privacy & still get to look out) and she made herself at home there too.

I left her being fed for the first time by someone I met less than an hour ago but she is happy and that makes me happy. Sort of.

Sigh...

Qynn turns over!

MyKellann Maloney

just got a message from mom that Qynn turned from her back to her stomach this morning! We've been waiting for this & hope that she can be put in the mobile class at day care - her first day is on Monday :(

Big changes a-comin

MyKellann Maloney

and so it is...we'll be a forest hills family in just 30 days and it feels completely right.

It took two years, a wedding, a baby, a trillion miles on the road, 2 cars, a dozen missed plans, 37,000 potholes & one persistent husband to get us there. Thank you for keeping the vision of our happy family alive and for making your own sacrifices to make this happen - and just in the nick of time too!

We will thrive there and our Qynn of Qyeens will be so happy.

The Berkeley

It isn't the Ritz, but it sure feels like the right decision.  Our foursome can now be together in an apartment that has a second bedroom and is located very close to Mama Bear's job.  We need our Mama Bear well rested!  Here we come Forest Hills!  UWS, you served us well!

Tuesday Evening's Serenade

Ryan Maloney

....last night Qynn awoke in what seemed like the middle of the night, however, this time she had little intention of calling us to her side. Instead, she was perfectly content to lay in her crib and practice making all the sounds she could muster.

She was happy as a clam. It was as if she knew this was a great time to echo the varied syllables and tones that everyone uses around her. It was a special moment and she was absolutely practicing her speech with her stuffed animals.

The adorable way in which she mixed her vocabulary and her growing command of pitch was both astonishing and mesmerizing. It was music to our ears. An interrupted sleep was a steal of an entry fee to last evening's private serenade...
